Fortune sticksLot 42 of 50Good luck
The new shoes
Favourable. Things move your way with a little steering.
The verse
Stiff leather and a clean sole,
The first mile pinches and the second does not.
A long road wants new shoes at the start;
By the third town they will be yours.
What it means
A fresh start that needs breaking in. Something new, a job, a city, a routine, a relationship, is right for you but uncomfortable for the first stretch. The lot says to keep walking; the discomfort is the shoe learning your foot, not a sign you chose badly.
What lot 42 says for
- Love
- Early days with someone good. Awkwardness now is not a warning.
- Work and study
- A new role fits badly for a month and well after. Give it the second mile.
- Money
- A new arrangement costs a little to set up and pays after. Normal.
- Wellbeing
- The new routine hurts for two weeks. That is the leather, not you.
- Home and travel
- A new place feels wrong until it feels like yours. Walk it in.
Take away
Walk the second mile.

Drew this at a temple?
Temples use different sets, most of them a hundred lots, and ours is a set of fifty, so the verse on your slip will not match ours and the grade can differ. Treat the number as a fair guide if it is fifty or under, and read the verse on your slip first; the image on it is the real answer. Here is how to shake for yourself.
A stick is one question. Your chart is all of them.
